Veronica Fern Abbe, age 86, of Comins, MI, passed away Tuesday, December 27, 2011, at The Home at AuSable Valley Community in Fairview, MI.
Veronica was born on May 25, 1925 to Herman and Mary Lunning in Saginaw, Michigan. As a teen, she moved to Fairview, and after graduation, she married the late Arnold Abbe of Comins. Veronica enjoyed reading, working in the woods and trapping with her husband Arnold.
Veronica leaves behind her daughter Neomi (Eugene) Schanck, daughter-in-law Ginny Abbe; her 5 grandchildren: Todd Worden, Narcy (Ken) Jewel, George (Deana) Schanck, Dud Schanck, and Tara (Matt) Conley; 6 great grandchildren: Courtney (Eric) Kucharski, Jessica (Chaz) Jackson, Nicole (Kody) Yoder, Emilee (Mike)Chicha, Kole Schanck, and Bridgette Worden; and 3 great-great grandchildren: Brooklyn, Raichel, and one on the way. She also leaves behind her brothers: Chub (Dell) Lunning of Essexville and Damien (Judy) Lunning of Mio; and many beloved nieces, nephews, brothers and sisters-in-law. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Arnold Abbe; her brothers: Frank, John, and Dan; her son Virgil and her grandson Virgie.
In accordance with Veronica’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A Private Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
