Dorothy Jean Abel, 83, of Mio went to Heaven on September 22, 2011. She passed at home with family by her side.
Dorothy was born in Wyandotte, Michigan on September 21, 1928 to Helen and Vincent Karbosky. Dorothy married Richard Abel Sr. in 1950. They shared three wonderful children, Rita, Raymond and Richard. In 1975 Dorothy and Richard moved their family to Mio. Dorothy was a cook at Sugar Shack and Parkway Restaurant. She loved to sew, fish, cook, do yard work and read books. Dorothy took pride in caring for her home for which she loved sharing with her family.
She was greeted in heaven by husband, Richard Sr. and her son, Raymond.
Dorothy is survived by her daughter; Rita (Jim) Krick of Mio, her son; Richard (Tammy) Abel of Brownstown. Her grandchildren; Kathy Karjala of Las Vegas, NV; Karen Harris of Clarkston, MI; Kristi Mclaughlin of Mio, MI; Kimberly (Anthony) Cotton of Mio, MI; Michelle Schultz of Carlton, MI; Bonnie Argue of Trenton, MI; Rae Lynn Abel of Brownstown, MI; Rhonda (Dan) Rose of Taylor, MI; Jennifer (Zeb) Bates of Trenton, MI; Cheyanne Abel of Brownstown, MI; and sixteen(16) Great Grandchildren with one in the oven and three (3) Great Great Grandchildren.
Visitation Sunday, September 25, 2011 from 11:00 AM - 2:00  PM. at Lashley Funeral Home, Mio. Graveside Sevices to follow at 2:30 PM at Kittle Cemetery, Mio, with Pastor Al Eastman officiating.
