Anna Grimes, age 95, of Mio, passed away Thursday, June 17, 2010, at the Home at AuSable Valley Community in Fairview.  
Anna was born on April 18, 1915 to John and Mary Nociar in Uniontown, Pennsylvania.  She moved to Pinconning, MI around 1920, and later moved to Detroit.  Later, she moved to Omaha, Nebraska, where she married her late husband, Edward Grimes.  The couple moved to Mio in 1980.  Anna was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Mio.  Her greatest pastimes were growing flowers and sewing.
Anna is survived by her nephews:  Santo (Janet) Montani , and Frank Montani, both of Mio, MI; her nieces:  Linda (Tom) Thatcher, and Liz (John) Gray, both of Gaylord, MI; and Joan Wood of Detroit, MI; and also many other nieces and nephews throughout Michigan.  She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Ed in April, 2010; 3 sisters:  Amelia Ferguson of Detroit, MI; Rose Montani of Mio, MI; and Catherine Worden of Buffalo, NY; and 3 brothers:  John Nociar of Pinconning, MI; Lawrence Nociar of Mio, MI; and Joe Vinarski of Lansing, MI.
Visitation will be held on Monday, June 21, 2010 from 11AM until 1 PM at St. Mary Catholic Church, Mio, MI with a rosary offered by the Knights of Columbus Auxiliary beginning at 12:30 PM.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated beginning at 1 PM with Fr. Raymond Cotter presiding.  Interment at Luzerne Cemetery.
