Doreen Clair Brandt, age 66, of Mio, passed away Monday, April 5, 2010, at Mercy Hospital, Grayling. In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, April 24, 2010 at 11:00 AM at Living Water Lutheran Church in Mio, with Pastor Carlo Sgambelluri officiating. Interment of ashes will be in Mentor Township Cemetery, Mio. Doreen was born on August 1, 1943 to Walter and Leona (Bellnap) Engerer in Bay City, MI. She moved to Mio at age 11, and graduated from Mio AuSable High School. Doreen married Arthur F. Brandt on March 13, 1964 in Lincoln, MI. The couple lived in Mio, where Doreen worked as a seamstress and owner and operator with Arthur of AuSable Upholstery. She was a member of the Living Water Lutheran Church of Mio. Doreen enjoyed reading, with her favorite author being James Patterson. She was also fond of flowers, jewelry, and gardening. Doreen will be remembered as a very loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was the force that made her family whole. She will be dearly missed. Doreen is survived by her husband Arthur Brandt of Mio; her children: Michelle (Rod) Verlac of Prudenville, MI; and Chris (Christine) Brandt of Grayling, MI; her grandchildren: Mandy (Todd) Harris of Roscommon, MI; Shane Kamen of Prudenville, MI; Jessica Brandt of Tampa, FL; and Tyler Brandt of Grayling, MI; and her great-grandchildren: Nickoli Dreffs, Johnathon Harris, Jeanette Harris, and Gabreilla Brandt.
